illustration inspiration

October 29th, 2009

Hello, Blog. I’m so sorry to have neglected you. Unfortunately, I get a lot of spam comments on these posts, so that’s made me question whether to even keep the blog up or not… BUT today I found something I really wanted to share. I found illustrator Jane Reisger via the Design*Sponge guest blog. She lives in Australia. I really dig her large-scale/environment illustration work. This REALLY makes me want to paint some murals. Enjoy.

I’m digging the patterns on these aprons by DwellStudio Table. Nice colors, modern patterns, not overly girly.. just right.

I sure would love to drive this precious Italian car. Found via apartmenttherapy.

really cool Prius commercial

May 18th, 2009

When I first saw this commercial on tv today, I thought it had to be director Michel Gondry’s work, but I was wrong. It’s fabulous anyway. BTW, I just saw that on Michel’s website you can request to have him draw your portrait for only $19.95. That’d be a funny gift for a fan.

Today I am feeling nostalgic for my time spent in Chattanooga (5 months last year), so I thought I’d post some photos of this darling city I called home for a short while. I sure do miss the parks, bridges, mountains, the people, and… living just down the street from Clumpies Ice Cream didn’t hurt either. These photos are from Flickr and link back to their original post.

guggenheim museum in venice

May 5th, 2009

I found out a friend of mine is traveling to Italy soon, which got me reminiscing about my trips there. I loved visiting the Guggenheim museum in Venice. Here are some great pieces from their collection:

Alexander Calder, Silver Bedhead, 1945

Alexander Calder, Arc of Petals, 1941

El Lissitzky, Untitled, 1919

Visit the museum’s website to see more.
